The Carrot Project

Eventually, we do want to get into the world of sticks. We want to focus on carrots first, however. We figure it’s a good move diplomatically (with the companies) to highlight and encourage the good stuff before condemning the bad. And also, given the disputed nature of lots of the information involved, we want to make sure we have heaps of friends and heaps of credibility before we start getting critical.

On the same note, couldn’t it be that the big boys get the most sticks as well? I’d also expect that the number of people/groups jumping to criticize a big company would far outnumber the people looking to heap praise on them. I’d also expect the opposite to hold true for the smaller, upstart companies that promise “crunchiness” but may have done little to back it up.

Definitely an area to tread carefully, I think focusing on the positive to start is a good approach.
