I don’t really get the question mark icon next to “leave feedback” on the top right corner.

First, it’s not clickable, which feels strange.

Second, I don’t really associate a question mark with “feedback”. I associate it with “help”. I guess “help” is a part of the “leave feedback” function, but it still feels strange.

My guess is that it’s there to make “leave feedback” stand out, but I think the big arrow on the home page already does that effectively.

Is there another way to emphasize “leave feedback”?

You should have a blog for the site. moreperfectmarket.com is great, but you also need a blog for the site. You’re doing a great job of participating in feedback discussions, but you should have a blog to make site announcements, discuss site issues, and discuss other related stuff. In addition to providing a central forum and voice, it will also probably be good for search traffic. I think.

I am sure all the companies mentioned have a page devoted to sustainable and “crunchy” business practices. Have you started posting any of them?

There should be RSS feeds for everything.

And the option to “subscribe” via email to commented on threads.

The information in the “What we’ve learned” sections of the site is some of the most interesting. I’d suggest making those links (next to the product category) much more prominent or have a teaser for the most recent entry in the list appear by default and have the link reveal the full list.

First, I know that user feedback will eventually help fill this niche, but until then, it would be nice for the site to give it’s own subjective advice on which products to buy—a Carrot Project seal of approval or something. I know that some of the awards might not mean much or are duplicative, and, as a result, I know that just counting awards isn’t going to guarantee a crunchy product. However, I don’t have time to research all the individual awards myself. Some sort of recommendations by the site itself might make it more likely that users go with a crunchy product rather than being overwhelmed with crunchiness data points.

Second, it would be cool to see the site incorporate quality rankings, price information, and whatever else consumers might want to know before making a purchase. I know that’s not your main concern, but it would make the site much more useful to consumers if they could survey all the factors relevant to their purchasing decisions in one place. This too might make it more likely consumers would incorporate a crunchiness factor into their decision-making processes.

You’ve probably thought of these things already, but I thought I’d mention them. The site looks great. Keep it up y’all.

How does the rabbit know my alias? That is freaky!

As an Apple user (and first time feedbacker), I am curiuos why Apple gets only two carrots. I don’t see many positive ratings, but don’t see any negative ones .

What gives? I just wanted to write “what gives” because I think it is such a hokey inquistor (not really sure if inquisitor is a noun, but I am declaring it one now if it wasn’t already).

in-quis-i-tor; question, as seen in “The Carrot Project” feedback

Food is a large category but… Perhaps you guys could look into companies like Dole, Topicana, Welches, Ocean Spray, etc and check out fair/unfair wages, outsourced labor, domestic labor, chemical use, farming techniques, etc. I know that is a broad category but I thought it would be kinda cool. Otherwise, GREAT site!

synthetic lawns…..I’ve heard they have lead in them

It’s a personal preference, I wander off and get lost sometimes.

Historically, certain rug manufacturers have maintained unfair child labor practices.

How about a search bar so that I can type the name of a company/product in directly and go straight to the appropriate page?

when you try and register with an existing username or email, the message sends back unescaped html

I know this is controversial in web design circles but I just happen to have IE 6 on my work computer and it really throws off the page layouts. Maybe the CSS can be adjusted to make it a bit better in IE6 even if not perfect?

appliances

I just submitted a new alternative for gasoline and it was immediately rated 58%. Is this right?

When clicking between the Mainstream and Non-Mainstream tabs, the page shifts horizontally about 10 pixels. I’m using Safari 3.1.2 on a Mac.

After successfully reseting my password I got taken to the Submit Feedback page. Would the Home page make more sense? Maybe I did something weird.

ok so when it has the thumbs up and down to rate whether an award is justified - what’s the n/a for? i don’t get it
